Temps Rouler!

What with the Olympics just passing, and the Oscars coming up on Sunday, nobody seems to have noticed: Mardi Gras is next week.

Anybody got plans for a meal that will help let the good times roll?

I've been trying to get up off of my lazy kester and bake a King Cake for the past 3 years.  Last year I got as far as coloring sugar for the topping.  Maybe this is the year Wacko

Red beans and rice is a fair bet, with or without the King Cake LOL

Right you are Brook.....it never even crossed my mind. The problem up here in
New England is that the weather usually sucks so bad that nobody is about to celebrate, although I guess I could toss together a nice shrimp creole or something like that.

Our next two holidays of note that we always cook for will be St Paddy's day and St. Joseph's day the 17th and 19th respectively.
Go ahead...play with your food!

Hmmm, I'll be cooking some Louisiana style smothered pork chops tomorrow...but that's just because.  I'll be making a king cake and something else...maybe some etouffee', po'boys, gumbo or something in addition...not really sure yet.

   Who's Oscar?
